Where My Story Began…

Most stories begin "once upon a time" or "long ago" — and my tale is no different. Sent from Korea to the U.S. as an infant, I didn’t return to my birth country until more than 40 years later — and when I did, I discovered a place rich with beauty, culture, and possibility. Minnesota alone is home to an estimated 15,000 Korean adoptees, the largest concentration in any U.S. state.

Traveling back isn’t easy for everyone; the cost can feel overwhelming. That’s why I started Heart & Seoul Bakehouse — to blend my love of baking with my commitment to helping adoptees reconnect with Korea and with each other. A portion of every sale goes toward scholarships to support those who need a hand getting to their birthland. At Heart & Seoul Bakehouse, we believe that every adoptee deserves the chance to stand where their stories started!
